Cop tazers woman because cop thought she stole from him!!!

"I dont like tha pow-lice anyway"

She had a bad attitude, but the cop was out of line coming back there himself.

What Im curious about, is whether or not the cop went to the manager or went straight to the employee. The video never lets us know either way.

I was wondering that myself.....if he just went back there on his own -- highly inappropriate...

One thing that made me think she could have done it was when she said something to the effect of (loosely interpreted) "I don't like the cops; They shouldn't have locked up my brother". Still, there's footage, why not check it before going to Level 10?

i can't believe some peeps are trying to justify the cops actions...totally unprofessional, harasment at its worst. I'm all about a criminal getting his just due but all the girl was doing was trying to work.

So a hostile mouthy gang-banger, who hadn't been frisked, 3am at night, being constained, is being "assaulted"?

If you change the rules in one situation -- you immediately change the rules across the board. Putting everyone, including cops - safety at risk.

The reason cops have strict rules, guidelines and procedures (in their handbooks), and personal interpretation is taken out of their hands -- is precisely for that. Protecting the city's ass. By making them apply the same conduct uniformly there is little chance of doing things incorrectly, thereby opening up lawsuit potential. Hence the term "do things by the book, and cover your ass".

Funny, if you and I were short-changed. We would've called the cops. Now if she pulled an attitude like that, and the cop just wrote some b.s. report, did nothing, handed it back to you -- you'd be the FIRST one on here bitching about how the stupid cop did DICK when you called him, and let the stupid bitch get away with ripping you off. Funny how the interpretation changes when you're the victim.

btw: If she really got $60k for merely being pepper sprayed -- there's probably a few million also in line who should be filing lawsuits too. Great precedent for easy cash.[/QUOTE
I dont think it was appropriate to use his position as a policeman in the situation. He should have approached it just as if me or you felt we were short changed. and even if she flipped out on him spraying her inside the restaurant was out of control.

He should have maybe called for back up. Where the presence of another officer might have changed her attitude, but im sure he didnt want to involve others on his persoanl vendetta for correct change.

Forgodsake all he had to do was just ask for some free frosty coupons out of the deal and STFU]

I looked this up, and the cop was found not guilty of any CRIMINAL actions, since he was on duty. That's pretty obvious; I don't think he just decided out of the blue to pepper spray her. But it was still fucked up, and he got fired. The police chief called him callous.
Later, he admitted that he might have given a $10 bill after all, and a judge ended up giving him his job back.
