what kind of teacher are you? I always thought that although noble and rewarding, teachers in general werent paid all that well. I have some friends that are IT teachers, but i think they are an exception to the field as far as compensation goes

I'm not a teacher!!! But I do know a LOT of them of various grade levels and the pay is very good. It starts off semi-shitty but your pay gets better very fast. Think 6 digits! Plus, you don't work many hours so a 2nd job/hobby is possible too. It really wouldn't fuck with your lifting curriculum.

I am 25 and,

I was in the same situation when I was 19 except I had taken the SAT.

I went to community college for two years and got a good part time job with a well known shipping company where I still work---Seven years later.

I deffinetely recommend juco b/c when you transfere you only carry the credit, not the grades. I had a 2.7 at JuCo and I will graduate in Dec with a 3.2.

I was torn between what to major in when I was 18 so I just took the basics at JuCo and worked my ass off. after Two years of college i decided to take some time off to drive full time with my current company and do a little elk hunting(season conflicts with school).

After driving for two years I decided I should go back to school and finish up while it was convenient. I transfered 60 hours out of 66 taken to the University and decided to major in computer information systems.(CIS)a.k.a. IT, BIS, or MIS.

I recommend computers if you are interested in 'em like you say.

It is a great degree b/c you can take it anywhere. Everybody has computer guys these days and those who dont will have to upgrade or be left behind. I am not your everyday computer nerd--I dont plan on sitting in a cubicle programming for thirty years and i wont have to.


The jobs available for a computer grad are diverse in variety and many in number. Concentrate on developing your communication skills if they are not up to par b/c that is what all of the employers i have interviewd with are looking for---someone with basic computer knowledge who can learn and communicate with team memebers and supervision and clients.

You know, I did not even read through all of the replies here. Shit, I didn't even read one, so if this advice sounds redundant, then I am sorry.

Realize that you don't need a college degree to get into computer fields. Study and get your A+, N+, and then go to work for some company and let them finance you to get your MCSE. From there you can branch into a specialized field of study and get your MCDBA, CCNA, OCP, or whatever strikes your fancy. You can get your A+, N+, and MCSE all within one year of minimal studying.

Stay in college and focus on what you like. The Physical, Nutrition, etc.. part of your life. Use the computer certificaitons to support yourself and save money so you can open your own gym, personal training service, chiropractor office or whatever.

I don't know how the market is down on your end, but all the networking certifications in the world won't get you a job up here right now. That market sucks, and it's saturated with job seekers touting those qualifications. Then again, we hear differently about the US, all our top people end up working down your way at some point or another for the Big American Dollars... I'm even planning on doing it! Woe Canada...

Have fun man, get out there. I was in your position before school started because I was always board, didn't care bout much anything then getteing in the gym, etc. Last year I didn't get involved in school at all, and this year Im pledging for a fraternity right now so at least I did something about it. I was sick of doing nothing all the time

i think i'm the only person that said this, but you're 19. bodybuilding may not be that important to you when you hit 27, or 35, etc.

i have no idea what job is based solely on your requirements, but you can become a registered nurse (yes i know. i'm sorry) who is focused on building nutrition & dieting plans.
