Confrontation with a group of thugs....

My actual insight into Buddy28's actions, though, are: where was his concern? He was there with his girlfriend. He talks about being pissed... being bigger than these guys... and at the same time he avoided an unnecessary confrontation that would have endangered her.
.

You know, if i had an extra 40 pounds of muscle, knew how to throw/take a punch and had some solid fighting experience under my belt, id probably have a similar attitude.

My thoughts were on my gfs saftey and my own. Its not exactly heroic, but its the truth.

Id like to learn how to defend myself. But what discpline should i pick up in which i wouldnt have to spend years mastering before i could defend myself fist-to-cuff with a moderate degree of proficency? boxing?

Would it have even made a difference in this situation?? Its really impossible to say.

It wouldve made me feel alittle less powerless though. I wouldnt mind getting a sparring partner to take a few rounds out of me. Sounds crazy, but ive never experienced that before. Mabey thats partially why i usually feel apprehensive to fight people. Probably wouldnt have helped in this situation, but perhaps itll come in handy sometime in the future.

Like most everyone said, you did the right thing.

Although I would have been an ass and told the police that they had flashed a gun at me.

That would teach them a few things>>>>>

LMAO! I like this one the best! I would have done the same. I like to be a bit of a prick sometimes, and it seems like these guys deserved it.

By the way, you did the right thing by not doing anything. Those guys were out looking for trouble, and if they were, chances are they had a weapon that made them feel so cocky. When I was young, I was out jogging with my sister, these guys almost ran her over. It was on a street in a community, and the speed limit was 10mph, these guys must have been doing at least 50. Out of reflex more than anything, I yelled slow down. Now, I didn't say this to be a tough guy mind you, at the time I was young, about 6'3 144lbs. Not exactly looking for trouble! Well, they do a panic stop, tires screaching. 3 big guys got out of the car. I told my sister to run. Two grabbed me, while the other hit me in the face with a pipe. Turns out, those guys were out doing crap like that all night long. In your case, those guys could have just had a pipe like in my situation, or perhaps a gun. You never know! I am now 260 plus lbs, people rarely start crap with me, but if I was in a situation like yours, I would have done the same. You had your girl there to look after, and yourself for that matter. Guys like that will get whats coming to them in the long run. They will either end up dead in some crack house, or in jail.

Let this thread serve as a reminder, that shit like this isn't cool. I see some good guys, who turn into people like the jerks described above. I've seen some guys at the gym who lift some weights, and suddenly it's like they had 5 tough guy shakes for lunch, they are out looking for trouble. I've done some things that aren't 'right' to protect members on my family, but I would never go out causing trouble, and never would I fight unless I had to (life/death situation, or someone else was in danger).

Bro, you're a good guy for getting you and your girl out of there. That shit ain't worth it if someone you care about is potentially in the line of fire, so to speak.

You did the right thing. I would have done the same thing. You can't win against people who have nothing to live for and are only there to bring down others. Even if you beat their asses and no one had a gun or a knife they probably would of gone and found some white girl and raped her to take out aggression. Or else they would of found a skinny white kid and beat him down for no reason.

They wouldn't have said shit if there had been only one or 2 of them. Don't let anyone fool you 5 guys on 1 is almost always a losing battle unless you are trained to deal with that specifically which is very few men. I'm not a professional. I have been in a shitload of fights growing up. It sucks bro but there is nothing wrong with saying a situation is no-win adn walking on. That's not getting punked that's being smart.

Ego beats up more men than punk gangstas ever could.

i would have waled away. like huck said they dont get confidence like that from nowhere.....it fucking sucks but then again thsts what they get off on, having overwhelming odds. i just wish i could get the opportunity to take these guys on 1-1

depends on whether they saw my car or could find out where i live but phoning the police and saying you saw them with drugs would be fun.

Exactly :)

put it this way....if they are willing to fuck with someone who is 10x their size....they have the means to take your life.....because, they are pussies and cowards....in other words they are packing.

so, you make the mistake of deciding to kick the crap out of them....you might be able to do it, but they won't hesistate to make it your last day.

instead of ignoring the problem, more normal people should go to the police....fucking do something about it. that's the law abiding system most of us choose to live in, we should take advantage of it....do our civic duty blah blah blah.....everyone just ignores the fucking problem.

i'm not a pussy for telling a cop that a bunch of scumbags are stirring up shit....

I am certainly not going to take my life in my own hands and be a fucking hero to prevent my ego from being bruised. hell, i know my life is a million times more fulfilling than theirs. why would i jeopardize that? why would I let them take that from me?

now, if someone comes in my house, that's a different story.....

You did the correct thing my man....Tombstone bravery gets you one thing....A nice marble marker, and memories for friends and family.
