if i put dban on a floppy from my laptop what would i do once i put it in my pc?

Boot the PC off the floppy.

DBAN will load, follow the on screen commands and the drive will get erased.

It will get rid of everything on that computer, permanently... there will be no way of getting any of it back... no nerd or god can reverse this. So execute with caution.

I beleive so, but I wouldn't run it with on my computer with any drives plugged in including USB thumb drives that I didn't want erased.

The data will be unrecoverable.

If you can, unplug any drives that you are not planning or wanting to erase - even if it means opening the computer to do so. It's to risky to have them plugged in and use this utility unless you are really computer savvy...

If you are comfortable and you know which partition is which - I think the DBAN menu will allow you to specify which drives you want to wipe.

Careful.
