Ubuntu Linux or Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED 10) are both ready for prime time. I used FreeBSD for 8 years but I couldn't live with it as a desktop. Ubuntu is stable, easy to update, and fast. The most difficult thing I do is convert videos I d/l back into DVDs and that is pretty simple now.p0ink said:dt, how do you get anything done on linux?
sorry, but there just arent enough decent programs out for it to justify using it. i have ran slackware/debian linux and freebsd a few years ago, but it's just too much of a hassle to use it still.
so it's either aresenic or hemlock, when it comes to computing.
If I absolutely have to have access to Windows I have Win 2K in a vmware guest OS.
