you know the menu at the top of every program? one letter is underlined.
and in "tools" for example, one letter of every menu option is underlined.

why?

I want to a keyboard shortcut to run one of those in my email program... how do i do that? in other words, in the Tool menu is an option to run my junk mail filter. The 'L' is underlined (lower case). how do i do that with a keyboard shortcut?

Sorry, I really don't know.

I'm just here for the bumps until Java or another geek arrives.

but you know what i'm talking about, right?
I'm using firefox, but other browsers have it too. the menu at the top- (file, edit, view, etc.)... each word has an underlined letter. why??? and how do i access it??

Those are there so you can use the keyboard to navigate the menu quickly.

Press "Alt", then the letter of the menu item you want to choose. Then type the letter of the menu item you want to choose on the drop down menu.

So in this instance it's probably something like "Alt", "t", "j"
