computer ?? about delete history

ok i got a windows 98 on my gateway and i want to delete my history and cookies 100% i know to go to the settings. then control panel, then to internt options but any way to get rid of it 100% ? or does that do it? thanx for ur time

If you are erasing things for legal reasons keep in mind that nothing on your hard drive is deleted and unrecoverable until it is written over by more data.
