Comming off the bench on DE bench?

SlavikHavik

When i do my DE bench my back lifts off the bench. It feels like its from the force of the bar.
whats this a sign of?
is it a good thing?
how can i correct it, if it should be corrected?

What is your raw max? and what are you using on dynamic bench?

Endpoint is right about your form, but you also could be going a little light.

I would cycle you de weight.
If your raw max is 255 take 50% and that is 127. Do that for next week then do 55% which is 140 the next week. Then go to 60% which is 153. Then drop back to 50%

Ill up the weight next time, thanks.

how do i make sure i keep my upper back on the bench? anything i can do as far as my technique goes?

Push the bar 'away' instead of up. Pushing away (by feel) should actually make the bar go straight up.

Use your legs to drive you BACK into the bench...

Doing that has made the single biggest difference in my benching.

In a conventional bodybuilding style bench press you tend to push upwards and backwards. What you want to do is push "away" from your line of vision and "outwards". It is a little hard to explain, but next time you're benching, keep those words in mind and try to get a feel for it...
