Coffee high??

I had a mocha frappe whatthehellever from moxie the other day, i wasnt working out that day but shit it gave me a buzz like no other, like it felt like it raised my test levels or something, i was feeling real pumped and aggresive. I was just wondering if drinking coffee will hinder any gains, i know it suprresses appetite but if im eating ok will it be ok to have a cup once in awhile, and im also guessing probably on black? Does anyone else do this or do u use something else for a huge energy burst before a workout.
 
black coffee is fine. anything else is just shit cals. just keep it under 2 cups a day. i use the stuff as a appetite suppressant and to keep me awake. there is a metabolic increase and some other small benefits. just watch out for the breath
 
Have you tried those Perfectly Protein drinks yet? There in the produce section with the pom juice and stuff. Pretty good. They have a mocha/cappucuino flavored one that is excellent not to mention 42gs of protein.
 
Mocha Frappe has 200 mg of caffeine per serving.....usually about 1.5 servings per bottle....i.e. 300 mg per bottle....

I would say that is enough caffeine to get you lifted....unless you're used to taking it as an enema.

Quick lesson on the biochemistry of caffeine..... it blocks the degredation of our little friend known as phosphodiesterase. When phosphodiesterase is blocked your cells can no longer degrade cAMP. cAMP is a lovely 2nd messenger of the 7tmp's that tells your body to release glucose from glycogen,protein, and fat. If cAMP isn't broken down then your body keeps flooding the cells with glucose.....e.g. you blood glucose levels are high and thus you aren't hungry.

So, in a nutshell, that is how caffeine curves your appetite.

becarful with that.
one cup turns into a great work out then pretty soon your drinking 2-3 cups before a workout then your crushing ephedrine tabs and caffinetans mixing it with the coffe and going to the gym.
Been there done that pretty soon you cant even focus and that really sucks.
dont over do it one cup a joe 2 tops only when your to tired and need a little extra engery
