codec problem

can anyone tell me how to fix a problem with my downloaded movies, I play them in windows media player 10 and they were working right after download but now I am getting a codec error,Ive downloaded the mircosoft codec installation package and still nothing.

I always send people to divx.com (seeing as I post mostly vids), usually does the trick they have free D/L's....I also tell peeps to do a search for ace mega codecs...."K" not necessary, just hope this helps.
