I am expecting a package to be delievered COD( cash on delivery) and I was asked to do this:
"We just wanted to let you know your order has been completed and being packaged for shipment to you. We are aware that you have requested that the order be shipped to you COD, and we will be happy to do so, but we need to ask a favor before we ship.
Because of a number of people that have thought it was funny to place COD orders, then never pay for them, we are now requesting that all COD customers fax us a copy of their filled out cashiers check or money order before the order is given to the carrier for delivery.
We apologize for this inconvenience but as you can imagine, it has cost our company a great deal of money in both delivery and returns for these orders that were never paid for.
We wanted to give you all of the information here, so that you will have everything in one place.
1. The total of your order, including shipping and COD charges comes to $
2. The cashiers check or money order should be made out to XXXXXX, Inc.
3. Make sure your name and/ or order number is clearly printed on the money order
4. The fax number to send it"
My worry is that if I send them a copy of my money order , would they be able to can cash out my money using the copy of the money order. Is that possible?
Or they need the real money order?
