Clemens on 60 Minutes

clemens is going to plead the 5th to avoid being prosecuted later for lying. mcnamera goes into detail on the timing of his use saying in one year, cant remember which but it is in the report, he stunk it up during the first half of the season and decided he needed to go back on which he did and his numbers improved dramatically. he said clemons tried growth for one year and didnt like it so he never did it again, which from my experience with growth, seems like a very credible statement. and the reason he only injected clemens 4 times is because clemens inj. himself afterwords as mcnamara was not available everyday for the inj. read the report people, it seems very credible to me.

considering there are really no consiquences legaly or by MLB other than tarnishing his rep to some degree, its to bad he just doesnt fess up and tell the public why he used em. maybe if people can see the benefits far out weigh the downside and start educating athletes, especially the young ones, some good could come of this. i say, be a man roger and tell the damn truth, as the truth will set you free. otherwise your on a path of continuous lies that you cannot outrun and it will eventually catch up to you and you think your rep is damaged now ? keep lieing and see where your reputaion goes.....

He allowed himself to be injected in front of someone else? Than he's an even bigger idiot.

Pitching is more about mechanics but being stronger is always better, especially once you're in your 40's and you lose a step. You have your mechanics either way. Clemens is a power pitcher and the difference between 91mph and 96mph is the difference between retirement and the Cy Young award. I'd bet my balls he juiced.
I dont doubt he juiced.
I think the reason he's admitting to being injected is to cover his ass(pun intended) in case someone,be it another player or anyone with locker/training room access. Perhaps him and other players didn't feel the need to be extra-secretive given that the use was so prevalent. And maybe it wasn't too practical to have the trainer come out to the mansion to do the application. Just do it in the clubhouse while I'm nude.

That makes no sense.

It was funny, because normally, team trainers/docs will give you your litocain shots and vitamins. In Roger's case, he had his own personal trainer give him shots of litocain and B-12?

This is the "Barry Bonds Excuse" (Thanks Sportscenter). By claiming this, he can always say, "My Personal trainer shot me up without my knowledge". Just like 99% of the general public, they don't understand steroids or PCT. So I am sure if he juiced, he also did PCT, but I am sure we will never hear about this. The things you take while on and during PCT are specific, right? If he juiced he should have used some of these things and that would be telling, right?

He is a liar and an asshole. He should have just said, "Yeah, I did it. So are 75-85 percent of the rest of the league. It was encouraged by EVERY team owner and the COMMISSIONER of baseball until recently. Tough shit, deal with it. This is life. Unlike what the Government and media will have you believe, taking Steroids is no more dangerous than taking other medications. When done right, and under a doctors care, they can improve the quality of your life, and your healh in the long run. Do some research and stop spreading rumors and lies!"

Damn, can you imagine if a public figure actually said this in a public forum? Fuck, that would be great. It will never happen, but it would be great.

He said his trainer injected him with vitamins. Why admit to the trainer injecting him at all? Idiot.

because he kinows thats what his trainer will testify to, and there may have been witnesses to 1 or more shots.

Clemens trainer, that McNamee guy, was told that if he told the truth nothing would happen to him and if he lied he would goto jail. McNamee then told Mitchell what substances Clemens had used over the years including sustanon-250, Test, Deca-Durabolin - nandrolone decanoate - -Durabolin - nandrolone decanoate - -Durabolin - nandrolone decanoate - -Durabolin - nandrolone decanoate - -Durabolin - nandrolone decanoate - , Winstrol, and later human growth hormone - somatropin - . Why would this dude make this shit up if it meant he would goto jail?.........

I think the way these things usually work, is the trainer got nailed. he was going to jail anyway. He offered information on a bigger fish in a proffer (a sales pitch on what he would testify to as a govt witness) in exchange for leiniency. If there werent juicy enuf names, he wouldnt get a deal.

so he has nothing to lose.

p.s. I havent followed the case, so i have no opinion 1 way or the other. I'm just playing devils advocate

I was a baseball player in the minors. About 85% of MLB players juice. The minors is worse. They are all trying to make it big, and guess what gets them there? Juice gives the extra power at the plate, the extra speed to steal a base, the extra quickness to make that play deep in the hole. I never juiced when i played, but did i want to? Hell yes i did.

Clemens took human growth hormone - somatropin - for recovery. no doubt about it. Did he take steroids? i honestly can't say. My gut tells me he didn't though. I'm not being naive. Roger is a smart guy. He is smarter than to stick his neck under the gullitine and pull the handle too. Bonds is just an arrogant prideful prick. He gets what he deserved.

Stars that i know do not juice are Jeter and A rodriguez.

I could give you a list of people i know for sure did. not going to though.

My brother in law plays MLB. He knows every single guy that has and hasn't pretty much. He hasn't though. He is 6' 1 and 230 anyway. he doesn't need it.

I call bullshit.
