chuck taylors or vans high tops

any difference? price should be close, and the bottoms flat. so any difference? or is it a fashion thing? ;)

i like the chucks and wrestling shoes. very hard to roll your ankle over when spreading the floor with your feet.

last time i had a pair of those was 1987. :D

1984 for chucks. but then again, i had parachute pants then too.

i wish i could breakdance, the rocksteady crew is touring australia in a few months, that should be amazing.

im all about my old school vans, not for training, just for looking cool!

also, with high tops, does it just save the ankles a bit for squatting and what not? cause my old NB's are about to die (from squash mainly) and im thinking of getting some cons high tops for the gym.

They can actually make it harder to squat

that depends on how much ankle movement you have when you squat. if you have a PL type squat, its a moot point, you just need the shoe to stay on when you "spread the floor". if you do a more high bar Oly squat, then you have alot more ankle movement and it could mess with your ROM. for those i will use my adidas OL shoes. i plan on rotating my chucks with my adidas. use my adidas for cleans, front squats etc. train everything else in my chucks.
