Cholesterol and AAS

I know that some AAS can play havoc with your lipid profile. But I have been searching around to a lot of sites that give steroid descriptions and it seems none of them list the effect of that particular steroid has on your lipid profile. Dose anybody have a link to a site that would have that information? Everybody list if the steroid will shut down your HPTA but nobody says anything about lipid profiles. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot and the info is out there but I can't seem to find it. I think it would be something worth know especially to us aging users. Does anybody have a link to this info? Thanks.

I have not seen a link but var and winstrol are notorious. tbol can also have an effect.

I have used tbol and winstrol and my lipid levels didn;t get hit bad. I take a ton of supplements though.

AA-17 orals are known to be very hard on HDL levels knocking them into the single digits for some. If you want learn the effects of specific AAS on lipid profiles google it. For instance "oxandrolone affects on lipid profiles" for var. then you can read the real medical studies on the subject.

This is true I could do a search on pubmed for "oxandrolone affects on lipid profiles" except this gives zero hits on pubmed, as well as google. When I did a search for oxandrolone cholesterol I got 37 hits on pubmed but none really answered my question. Some pointed to the answer but if I was to do this for every steroid I would have to wade through over a thousand abstracts that only a couple would pertain to my question. I think my question points to something that is lacking in every steroid profile list out there. And as we age this becomes a much more important topic. I know that most of the people on this forum are under twenty five but there are some of us that are starting to get gray hair and things like lipid profiles are very important. Maybe I will use some of my time to put this information into a somewhat more usable form and see if someone will fold it into the information they already post.

I agree, I have read probably hundreds of abstracts on the subject unfortunately I never took the time to condense what I learned other than something similar to what I stated above. This is also a very important topic of discussion for me. Good luck in your research and I will keep you in mind as I continue to study so I can share what I learn. I actually went from more of learning what impacts AAS has on lipids (most are unfavorable with AA-17's bening worst) to how to minimize the negetive affects by utilizing other suppliments.
