While out on our first bike ride of the season, I was rounding a corner and the truck in front of me decided to almost stop, forcing me to slow down and that of course caused the bike to straighten up and shoot towards the centerline. At the same time a truck pulling a boat was rounding the curve and his trailer tires were on the centerline.
Well, we met at about 15 mph each. I destroyed his tire rim and damaged his fender on the trailer, he destroyed my generator cover, fairings and gear selector arm and I bruised some toes.
I then spent 4 hours in the middle of the desert, in the middle of nowhere wondering who's dinner I was going to be, while my friend went back for a trailer to put the bike on.
Now I am gonna have to wait like six weeks for the next ride till I can get the damage repaired. At least the Highway Patrol was cool and said we could just exchange information so our insurance rates (especially mine) didn't go up!
