It seems that when i put the dumbbell down when doin curls i get this pain on the outside of my wrist(pinky finger side on wrist) it goes all the way to my elbow....any ideas? its only when i put the weight down and lasts for about 10-20 seconds...ive been gettin use to it jus wanna make sure its nothing serious
 
That pain is usually due to entrapment of the ulnar nerve.
The muscles that are involved are your wrist flexors, they mostly have a common insertion point at the medial epicondyle, (inside elbow).
Try some self massage to the area, you should be able to find the spots.
Working the wrist extensors is commonly overlooked, try inserting your fingers into a rubberband and then spreading them.
