Check out the wall Isreal is building

But can we agree that history leaves a very wide gap for interpretation and is very subjective because it was mostly written by the conquers?

Both sides claiming the other is ignorant may not be totally unthinkable.

Besides, give me $75 /hr and I’ll work for you! : ) I hate this fucking place and all the political BS. I hope that I can get this side business somewhere so I can drop this one.

Yeah history is interpretable and always written by the winners....I have been here a while and I am breaking balls....

I think you might enjoy the book "Cocaine: an Unauthorized Biography" by Dominic Streatfeild.

it's a history not written by the conquerors and it provides a lot of insight into contemporoary issues and their roots.

We are actually 100% on IT staff - part of the reason we moved out of NY was the prospect of paying NY salaries to IT people and lawyers - in Jacksonville you can pay 60% of the salary.....so I don;t think I can help you right now....

I am in NY. Working on Cisco shit since the AGS days. I remember when code 9 was released. Back then it was Cabletron and Synoptics. Either a Bay router or a small AGS. The rates I was offered was 3X NYPD pay and I jumped ship. Networking is damn easy, the politics is not.

I have some side shit going on as well. Since the job market got so tight I have been brokering positions to firms for a cut. Since I am in the field I know where and when spots open.

I also am building a home-based business. If you have come across my past post you probably have read about it. Breeding large parrots. Feed two birds, they lay 4 eggs, they raise them, you sell them for $800 each wholesale. Get enough birds and you don’t have to work. Just feed the birds. Putting the URL up here to let you take a peek is a little risky since it has too much info.

If you are working with Cisco then you know their stuff has turned to shit. Microsoft certifications are worthless. I can put it with my old CNE/MCNE/ECNE crap. My CCNP/CCDP and lab test cert is shit too. It’s all about whom you know now and getting protected.

I was a "cisco guy" for a while - CCNP....also had Microsft certs - this was likwe 1999-2000...tiems were just getign shitty. I got a job from a guy who was a CCIE (pretty low number, under 3000) after things went south he got some hourly jobs, and then was out of work. I think he actually went back to school....

I am in the insurance / litigation / outsourcing world now...much better.

Breeding large parrots? Interesting -

No license, just tolerance… They are smart. Smart enough to form simple thoughts and PLOT. This is amusement to them. Most that I have are equal in intelligence to a 3-4 year old.

If they see you walk into the bedroom they will mimic the phone to see you come running down the stairs. If they hear a sound and see that you are concerned about, they will wait and mimic it when you least expect it so they can get a show.

Because they understand cause and effect to a degree they will hear us yell at the dogs or cats, even other birds. They realize when someone/thing is screaming that you tell it to shut up. They also know what NO means.

Picture a nice sunny morning. Birds are screaming shut up at one another. The dog barks and another bird is yelling at the dog by name. Then another bird tells that one to shut up and the first bird yells back NO. This goes on for hours, the fighting and bickering between them. They also know the cats by name and call them. When they get in the room they remain silent until the cat walks away.

They do smell… Only when their cages are not kept up. Sonic breeze units are all over the house.

You need a license for that?

Birds fucking smell, I'd have to breed 'em at work or something, cuz I can't stand the smell.

FUCK, add a four year old and that would get old quick.

Whats the gestation period of a large parrot? How much is upkeep of the 'parents'? Whats the gross after all is said and done?

The food cost per bird would be my wife’s area.

Figure a pair of good breeders is about $3000-$4000 (amazons) for offspring you can sell for about $1000-$1300 each (wholesale). Optimally you would want about 10 babies per pair. Cage is about $700; food is $25 for 20 pounds. This is a special breeding pellet with tons of vitamins and minerals. The upfront investment is lost money. If you can afford to lay out the cash then do it and forget it. First year is considered a break even.

Some breeders are only $2500 per pair but you can only sell the offspring for about $800 wholesale. Smaller birds sell better because they are more affordable and not as intimidating. Conures are a big seller and they always sell. Pair of them (breeders) is about $600 and they sell for about $350 each wholesale. They also will lay up to 15 eggs per year.

To generalize all of them. Gestation is about a month. They can be ready to sell in about 2 months after that.

The up front costs are killing me. Breeding supplies, backup generators, and stuff I would never think of.

Breeders are not tame birds. They are wild and WILL take your finger off. You learn to be fast and watch them.
