Ok.. I made up this little workout chart and i was wondering if this was too much? this will cover just about every muscle and im thinkin of workin each muscle to failure. Will this work good or is this a bad idea... check this shit out:

well lets say my body can take this abuse... will my muscles be able to grow good following this workout?

Not even Arnold and Franco trained that much. I may have missed how many sets, maybe is one per exercise was used that would be okay, but I highly doubt that's the case.
 
ok.. but WHY won't it work? :D i wanna know. It seems like it would work pretty good since i would be working out every muscle.
 
Bro, you do not need to hit every possible part of the muscle in a particular workout. If you stick to around 2 basic movements and rotate the excercises you will get much better results.

for example: one day for chest I might do medium grip incline presses and flat DB flys. The next week I'll do flat db presses and low cable flies for the upper chest. Some weeks I'll just flat bench. This allows me to handle heavy weights yet still have balanced development.

Also: do everyone a favor and don't work chest on monday. Why so many people are compelled to do this is beyond me.
 
I agree with Conan.....I think you're overtraining....you are also working your tri's on mon. and Tues. Bad idea....you're muscles need atleast 48 hours to recoperate. Accept abs.....they only need 24.
 
Man several people have already told you teh reason you will be overtraining you poor little body...
 
Hey fella's, I wouldn't even answer the questions this fuck up Xalthus has to ask. After he posted some negative shit on one of my threads, I went on the search engine to see if he did that shit to other people, and sure enough he posted some fucked up shit on other peoples threads also for no apparent reason. My workout routine is kind of similar to that one. Although not with quite as many lifts per body part, I do a workout that many would consider overtraining, but this is what my body responds to the best.
I've tried backing off of my "overtrained" workout for several months, but I just don't see the results I do with my current workout.
I know what works best for MY body and that is what I do. This type of workout may work best for this dude. You don't know till you try it. I don't agree FULLY with his routine, he could drop many of these lifts. I don't know if he'd have the energy to complete them all anyway!!!
What I"m saying is different workouts work for different people. He may respond great to this type of lifting. He won't know till he tries it.

I definitely think you should do this workout. That way you will burn out real fast, get an injury or two and then be out of my #@##@ing way next time I go to the gym!!! THANKS in ADVANCE

My exercises sometime revolve using a puss-pull routine...Push exercises,Bench,Tris,Sholders, Pull exercises.Rows,Lat pulldowns,Bicep curls this allows the pull & push muscles a day off..then its on to leg day.......RADAR:D

LOL! Hey carrera, I would say we take a trip to Utah to give this pussy a real ass beating, but my intuition tells me that before we get there someone else will have already beat us to it.

overtraining because some exercises you are doing six different ways to hit one muscle group. Each exercise calls for 3-4 sets, so that would make 20-24 sets per body part, per day. Thats too much. Like stated before take 3 or four ways to hit one muscle group, then switch it to the other 3 or 4 after 4 weeks so the muscle is shocked constantly, and will grow better. If you do 3 different exercises for one muscle, I would do 4sets of each, totaling 12. If you do four, I would do 3 sets of each exercise, this not including warm up sets. I think you will have great results with this. Take 15-20 minutes to stretch and this routine should only take 45 minutes to an hour, thats what I like to do.

TO ALL YOU BRAINWASHED, CLOSED-MINDED MENTZER FOLLOWERS (heheheheh):

there is nothing wrong with high volume workouts as long as you adjust your intensity, have a solid dietary plan, and you are on hormonal supplementation!

i was on a very high volume (ie:50 set back workouts) for the last 4 weeks of my last cycle....reason was because i stopped growing at about 6 weeks into my 12 week cycle, but changing my training at week 8 allowed me to utilize the rest of the cycle for positive development, even though i didn't gain any weight (the sheer volume of these workouts causes cardiovascular effects.) i went short of failure for every set and limited the rest between sets to 1 minute. here's a sample quad workout:

squats: 10 sets, 315 x 6-8 reps
presses: 10 sets, 8-10 plates per side x 5-8 reps
hacks: 10 sets, 4 plates per side x 5-6 reps
extensions: 10 sets, 10 reps (usually 1/2 the weight stack, depending on which machine used.)

needless to say, training like this hurts! however, it gives you a totally different sensation than traditional low volume workouts. i have trained to failure for almost 10 years straight, and figured why not go for a bit of a change?

remember guys, variety is the key. so don't completely shun methods of high volume before you try it out for yourself. just be sure that you are doing the right things, diet- and supplementation-wise, before you decide to go full speed with these variations.

around here, chest day is monday thru sunday for some of these folks....sometimes i can't even get a bench on sunday at 5AM....thank god for inclines! LOL
 
I hate chest on mondays everybody does it......Can't get a fuckin machine when everyone does chest on Monday.
 
Great workout! Just remember to start and finish each day with a 5 mile run, limit your water and protien intake and no more than 4 hours of sleep per night.

Go man go!
