Anyone here experience changing a cars transmisson from automatic to manual? Does it get very expensive? What other parts usually have to be changed, bought?
You're going to need a . . .
transmission and shifter
clutch pedal assembly with all accompanying linkages
clutch assembly and flywheel
maybe a driveshaft
You're also going to need a bunch of other things that will pop up as you're doing this. Considering this car is only 4 years old these parts are going to cost plenty. It's a big job and it will not be cheap.
Thanks. My buddy is looking for a manual but theyre tough to find so he wanted to know how much it would cost to change an auto to manual.Karma to you, thanks.
Honda Civic??? Not exactly the epitome of sports car dude. I'd just save the money and buy something that really could use a stick. Like a mustang, rx-7, vette, beemer, etc.
you'll probably also need a computer. the injection mapping and the timing can vary between the two depending on how the car was engineered. not worth it, IMO. you'd be better off buying a different car.
