Celtics trade Perk/Nate

They werent gunna resign perk for that outrageous amount he wanted anyways, good future move
I understand that. But this team is built to win now with PP, KG and Ray all being old. One of Boston's big advantages was having Perk's size and defense against big men like Howard. Now we have Shaq (hurt) JO (hurt) and Krstic who is decent on offense, but plays no D whatsoever.

I like Jeff Green..think he's a solid young SF, but not for Perkins. Plus Green's a RFA after the year anyways.

Jeff green is pretty good
he is a good scorer, avg 15 a game behind durant and westbrook.

but he's a RFA after the season, and if boston lets him walk they might as well have kept perk and let him walk. you need a solid big man in the playoffs.

OKC is going to be a legit finals threat now. they almost beat LA last year but lacked a solid big. they got that now.

well something else is going on because boston just traded semih erden and luke harangody for a 2nd rounder from cleveland.

so something much bigger has happened and hasn't been reported or ainge is out of his mind.

edit: just reported the celtics are getting the 2012 Clippers first round pick from the 1st trade.

They'll be fine after jo comes back, big baby is underrated as hell

My money is on boston this yr, or until miami gets a new coach

JO sucks. Baby is definitely a solid player, but Boston no longer has a legit center. The second trade was apparently to clear up roster space to sign bought out players that have not been named.

kinda took me off, but they needed to get something for him, plus it keeps him from going to Miami (division)
Although I liked Perk, with his previous shoulder injuries, coming back from a torn ACl, and now hurting his MCL he's kinda a ticking time bomb

he would've been healthy for the playoffs. his knee sprain was only to supposed to keep him out a week. between shaq and jo being hurt all year, the celts have no legit center. if green wasnt a RFA i'd be happier with it. the logic of getting something for perk before he walks doesn't work when some stupid team offers green tons of the money in the offseason and we end up with krstic who's soft and can't play D to save his life.

also rumors are that sheed is coming out of retirement. which is fucking awesome since he was out of shape last year, and presumably has just been sitting on his ass all this year. fucking stupid.

he fucking blows.

They dumped Hanragody too...Erden....

and Marquis Daniels
daniels career might be over cause of that spine injury.

i liked erden and harangody, and yeah a 2nd rounder is kinda weak but until we find out who is going to fill their roster spots i'll reserve judgment. i'm just hoping its not sheed. murphy would be alright even though he can't play the 5 or defense.

this.

perkins was good because of who was around him. Hard to say he's worth 7/8 a mil for a long term deal. you get value for him now. young value..... Green and rondo will be part of the core once Ray/KG/Pierce retire. Yes green is a RFA, but they'll resign him. He's a way better building block than kendrick.

Irony of this.....

Jeff green ended up being the pick that was dealt for Ray allen a couple of years back. So Seattle/OKC traded Ray allen and jeff green for Kendrick perkins and nate robinson in the end.

Miami wouldn't have had any money to sign him. Who knows if the MLE is even going to be around when the next CBA is established. Even if it stays, SOmeone would have offered him more money than that. Not too many even serviceable big men in the league anymore

but yeah, he was more high risk of an extension than green is. Green hasn't lived up to his billing as the #3 pick but it might be the system too. Durant and westbrook dominate the ball quite a bit

Perkins scares me.

Dude seriously looks like Satan.

Big fan of Robinson though, and as a pseudo-fan of the Thunder I'm hoping this trade works out for them.

PS CW, must pwn you again at 2k11.

not with my new knicks lineup.

i pwned my friend yesterday with them. he picked the heat.
first game, chauncey hit the game winner with .6 seconds left, it even rattled around the rim allan-houston 1999 style.

bring it ngr

My celtics > your knicks.

now that perk is out 2-3 weeks this trade is starting to make more sense. wouldn't surprise me if he actually tore his mcl and OKC just didn't care.

I heard that, tough luck for him. Some reports have him missing 6 weeks though that's stretching it.

OKC just gave him almost 40 mil. Makes sense for a young team with their core already in place. Would have been an albatross for the celtics especially in the last 3 years
