cardio off season

Just started a course. Never used to give a shit about cardio, didnt do any for seven years and thinking that I may just do 20 mins after each workout at 4mph on a 9% incline to elevate my HR to about 140 beats per min. This will create some good aerobic capacity, be beneficial for my heart and also not be too much to create muscle loss from extended cardio. Does anyone else do this or do you all not do CV off season?? Also is it best to drink whey and carbs after weight training or wait until the cardio has been completed?

Cheers

Its a good idea to do cardio all year long. It speeds recover and helps your heart and other organs.. If I were you I would do some LIGHT intensity cardio on your off days. Maybe a brisk walk on an empty stomach first thing in the morning for 20-30 min... 2-3 times a week. I wouldn't do cardio after your weights. Just pound that shake go home and sleep for an hour and a half and then eat your second post workout meal..

I would do it on off days from the gym or seperated by a good amount of hours and workout days. All year round for me as well, although in the winter if I have to miss a cardio session for any reason, I don't get pissed about it like I would in the summer.
