I would say diet! I lost a ton of bodyfat without any cardio. (note: I'm not saying cardio doesnt have benefits)

I believe the general consensus is in the morning.

Yes! Cardio unnecessary. But, if you insist, morning better. Post-workout, no need cardio. Just need food. Not eating and instead running catabolic.

Personally I don't think it matters much if you doing sprints and tempo style runs at moderate intensity.

Aerobic style Cardio is flat out useless if you ask me, relatively speaking, especially if you want to hang onto your muscle, plus its boring as hell :)

In my opinion, it depends completely on your metabolism. Higher metabolisms can lose extra fat simply by eating right and lifting. Naturally slower metabolisms, like me, aren't so lucky.

As for your two choices, to me, there is nothing worse for a natural bodybuilder than AM/empty stomach cardio. It's the most catabolic activity one can do. Post-workout makes more sense to me, but no more than 20 minutes, 3x per week.

Personally, I do my cardio in the evenings on off nights. If I stopped doing it, regardless of my diet, i'd be a fat bastard again in no time.

Sure. I think that everyone is right that has posted for the most part. However, saying that you don't need "any" cardio is misleading. Doing a.m. cardio at no more than 20-25 min with a high intensity method WILL assist you in dropping body fat. It just isn't necessary. Further for alot of folks on this board I would imagine that their metabolisms are running fairly "hot" as it is. Doing cardio is not likely to "boost" their metabolisms much more than it is already running at. If you are not already in prime shape, PROPER cardio can increase your base metabolism thereby facilitating the burning of body fat. You have to be careful though with your diet, and definately NOT over do it with the cardio or, yes, you WILL eat away at your lean body mass.

Personally cardio made a big difference for me but quite frankly I think I'm at the point where doing cardio is not paying off in any other way than improving the health of my heart. My metabolism is running so hot you could light a cigar off my dick.

Doing some cardio is just good for you period anyway. I just think that anything over 25 min is counter-productive.

In my opinion I wouldnt do anything on a empty stomach. High protein and low gh carbs w/moderate fat has always worked for me. The only cardio I will do during this diet is 2.5 mile walk daily at a moderate pace.

A combination of both, doing cardio after your AM weight workout.
