cardio every day

Tried running 6 days out of 7 last week got blisters on my damn feet.. that's just me though.

Nothing wrong with it they say you should do cardio 5 times a week for the "well being" effect.

i know lifting every day is wrong, but what about cardio like running everyday?

There is a guy in my gym who does cardio for 40 minutes 7 days at 250 watts and he is in incredible shape -- very muscular and lean. He is also all natural. It probably has much to do with genetics, but I think the idea that daily cardio will make you lose all of your muscle mass is a myth.

you can, although it is unnecessary

Dont listen to this advice by any means.. Why is it unnecessary? That would depend a lot on your goals, if you are trying to cut up, you dont think that 30 min. a day is a good thing?

Please explain yourself... I would like to know why it is unnecessary.

Just what i was taught and read articles on in an excersice science class to sum up...cardio for 7 days is not detrimental but did not show any increase of effectiveness compared to cardio for 5 days. I dont believe everything i read or that im tought so Ive tried both ways and found that 5 is just as effective as 7 if not more because you have some time to rest. Everyone is different try seven days a week I don't care, but seven days a week for ME was unnecessary

I'm with you Cutt. I think 5 days does the trick.

anabolic12, I'm not so sure why you are so defensive about this. I mean it's just an opinion. It would be like getting pissed because someone says they like the Star 5x5 workout and you're a proponent of 1 body part/day. It's all just what works for YOU. To each his own bro. Cutt was just offering his opinion.

Variables involved tho - you don't know his diet, obviously genetics are involved and if he does the same 40 min every day, then his body is probably conditioned to it and considers it "stasis" as far as his regular 'lifestyle".

i play college sports, this is the offseason so im trying to condition. i also find myself with a lot of extra time now, and running is just something i took up. im not talking about high intesity every day, on days i have practice ill juts do the eliptical for 20 min or so, and others ill run for 30 on the treadmill and run another 30 outside.

Bro you misread the posts or something. I wasn't being bitchy I was telling the other guy to eas up on Cutt. You just repeated what i posted.

BTW - Im fairly certain everyone knows that cardio is good for your heart since cardio is short for cardiovascular and literally means the heart and blood vessel system.

Everyone is different, I hate cardio, and it is simply a function of body fat,

When I need to lower my body fat, I do cardio, when I am okay with where I am, I drop the cardio

My grandparents walk everyday for cardio and their heart, so I dont see a problem with it.. I think 4-5 days is more than enough but it depends on individual and goals..

i do cardio 1hr X 5 days a week - post workout. i find it helps keep my energy up for the workouts. i still gain mass too.

I did 1 morning session and 1 nightime session 1hr each session for 7-8 weeks last yer

2 hours every day? What type of cardio activity did you do (e.g., walking, running, elliptical)? After two months, what were the results?

so basicaly im not the focus of this discussion anymore? my diet is pretty strict , i watch waht i eat reagularly, for breakfast i typically have cereal, lunch tuna and salad, dinner, after working out i try to eat a little more in calories. i should probably quit that if im trying to cut, and eat more for lunch. twicea week i induldge in fatty food food
