Carbs Sleep and Libido

When I eat low carbs I find that I don't sleep or need to sleep nearly as much as I otherwise would. I used to think it was related to stims, but I don't use them anymore and I still don't need to sleep much when eating low carbs. When I pig out, I sleep like a baby though. I'm guessing that this somehow may be related to insulin. Also, when on low carbs and doing lots of cardio, I find my sex drive goes way done. Anyone experienced anything similar?
 
Every thing you said is true for most people. Dietery fat raises your test levels a lot. When you strip fat from your diet along with carbs, your test levels will some times go down. And if you eat protien right before bed you will have trouble sleeping. I forgot the science behind that but I read in lots of places that this is true. Guys who compete are known to get insomnia during the last weeks before shows. Just make sure you throw a cheat day in there every 7 -10 days. By doing that myself, I noticed that my test levels pan out. But any time I go more then 10 days my sex drive drops a little. Yohimbine HCL helps a lot to. Also your sex drive is lowered due to the simple fact that your energy levels drop. No one wants to have sex when thier tired.
 
Carbs increase serotonin... hence you feel sleepy when you eat carbs. In fact, carbs are essential for the release of serotonin.

As for the libido - you are probably experiencing de-hydration from too much cardio (in which case drink more water).. and carbs (food in general) enrich the blood - this aids an erection....

You are describing normal events. So, yes, I too experience what you have described.

The science is that proteins contain stimulatory aminos - like taurine, tyrosine, and phenylalanine...... along with non-stimulatory aminos like tryptophan. However, milk, and whey proteins contain more stimulatory aminos than non-stim aminos.
