So my father in law was talking to me last night and was telling me that carbs will make you tired. I tell him that he is full of shit because Carbs break down to Glucose which is blood sugar which in turn feeds your cells the fuel they need for physical activity's i think i just said that right. But i have never heard of carbs making you tired mabye bad carbs can someone help me out with this one please and thank you....But i am not going to take advice from a 50 something year old man with a fat ass gut anyways i just want to make sure i am right ya know this guy thinks he know everything. Like we order food yesterday when we went out the waitress brought him out some butter and he says "this is not butter it is partially hydronated soy bean oil" then their appatizzer (sp) come out and it is deep fried okra. And i tell him hey what do you think your eating right now and you wouldnt eat that butter.....ha ha some people...

well Chief, that "old" 50 something guy was correct, especially when you eat too many like on Thanksgiving and your hitting the potatoes, rice and finish it off w/ pie, you'll get the tired feeling as they start to break down. Army was correct too, it's generally the bad carbs as opposed to sweet potatoes, brown rice, etc. Looks like you better pay closer attention to that "old fat sumbitch" who at 50 is damn near needing a rest home.....

Well like Army Vet said the bad carbs like sugar they give you a boost but then you crash after that boost. Ok seperating the bad carbs from the good.. Will the good carbs cause you to get tired like sweet potatos brown rice and things like that.

What I think everyone's trying to say here, is that Army Vet and Txbondsman are older than dirt.

Only one way to get the amout of experience that I have, and that is to live this long... :-)

Research insulin. This is the drug secreted when blood sugar levels in the body get high... and blood sugar levels get high depending on quantity and types of food -- specifically carbohydrates -- ingested. Insulin will cause drowsiness.

For every action in the body, there is often a reaction. This is an example of such a case.
