i bought a set of used wheels and tires for the latest driveway squatter, my '64 ranchero.

the lug holes look kinda strange to me....more egg shaped than round. (pls check out the enclosed pics).

will these odd shaped holes give me problems concerning vibration at 70 (or more) mph?

will these wheels stay on the truck??

all 20 holes (4 wheels, 5 lug holes) are shaped exactly alike....don't think they are walled out or abused......waddda ya think?

could just be the design,if your getting a vibration try hub rings for a tighter fit on the hub,I dont think it will make a difference though my old rims were like that and ride smoother then the new after markets I put on

probably a variation designed in the wheel so it can accomodate a slightly different lug spread.....i wouldn't worry about it.

if it was from running the wheels loose the elongation would not be so uniform and would be spread side to side also

yes, my thoughts also.

Tapered lug will go into the hole and align the wheel properly. Make sure you hand tighten all the lugs before torquing any down, otherwise the wheel will not be centered properly.

That doesn't look good. Although all of the holes appear to be of similar shape and size. . .like they were made that way. . .WTF?

My guess is that no matter how well balanced the wheels are, when you mount them you'll probably get out-of-balance symptoms (e.g., shake, shimmy, thrumming noise, etc.).
