Anybody ever tried these for making your own caps?

yes

its really the only cheap alternative.... a pain in the ass, but it works... about 10min/50caps = a lot of time if you have a lot of powders

Is it a machine? Just a tray to hold the empty caps? Anyone have a picture? I have one from a long time ago, that I used to cam some nasty tasting aminos. It's just a tray for you to hold the caps and scrape your powder into. Someone please post a picture, a large picture as I am not plat.

Yes, thats the one I have. It works, but is a little messy, and need a pencil eraser to pack the powder down in the caps. I don't think I paid that much for the caps. The larger ones are cheaper.

There is another one out there too, but I forget the name of it.

it come with a tamper now... so you dont need to use a pencil
