Cancun spring break Q

If you were going to Cancun for spring break, would you rather stay at one of the nicer high-rise hotels along the strip (cancun hilton, oasis, omni, etc), or in a lesser hotel, but at the hub of all the clubs (senor frogs & all the others) ? I've heard that the nicer hotels have their own spring break thing going on (especailly oasis), but it's about a 10 min ride to the club area.

Dude, I went last year. A 10 minute ride to the clubs is nothing. Your'e going to sleep in the joint; make sure it's nice.

I stayed at the Oasis btw.

I would never go to Cancun for Spring Break personally & I was told by people who did that hotel services basically "shut down" during that time -- ie no clean towels, no room cleaning, etc.... And I knew someone who got cut pretty bad by broken glass in the pool during Spring Break....

They have a bus that runs right along Hotel Row & it's only about $1 American, so I'd stay at a nicer hotel --> prolly less chance of messy rooms & maybe a tiny bit quieter....

Yeah, I had a "nice" hotel and the service imo was good. Room service every day, everything always very clean. Excellent food.

I can't remember where these people stayed...but they were caught up in the Spring Break BS & the staff couldn't keep up with all the mess & people so just gave up....

I liked Cancun myself, but it wasn't Spring Break time.... Place was a big pyramid with out-buildings & lots & lots of peacocks on the grounds who were like roosters at 5am

Oh yeah, I forgot to add my birth certificate was stolen. I believe it had to of been the maid. I left it on the dresser and after dinner it was gone.

The pyramid one...that is by the Oasis I believe, right next door. It looks awesome.

It was nice, but the peacocks literally sound like cats screaming at 5am -- so be prepared to get woken up very early if you stay there..... LOL

String bean, was there anything going on (spring break/wise) in the area around the Oasis (you know contests & general nakedity) or did you just sleep there & shuttle down to the lagoon area to have fun ?

During spring break, at 5am no one is even in bed yet. :)

During the day they had lots going on at the beach...wet t-shirt contests, etc.

But at night we went to the various clubs and took the shuttle/bus thing. If you went through a travel agent (I had Apple Vacations) they have a guide for you, and we bought from him a booklet of tickets for a different club each night, all you can drink. Each ticket is like $40. Not cheap, but hey, unlimited booze.

LOL...That's why farmers down here use them as watchdogs. They will start one helluva commotion if anything moves.

I haven't thought of that in years.....lol

Oh yeah, Hilton......

We are staying at Cancun Hilton, supposedly an awesome resort. Leaving Mar. 17.

I'm envious. I'm going to book sometime this month for a year from now. I can't afford it this year.
