defanbaker(sp) put us miles behind military wise when the avro arrow was scraped ,and I do believe we have everything the U.S does but on a smaller scale and much more discreet.

they are pushing hard to recruit more people right now and are planning to put more money in it,but I never see it taking off like the U.S forces

as draftees, i can see your point, but do you really want to train people who can then leave your army armed not only with training but with enough knowledge about the workings of your defense forces to potentially become a threat?

canada never has to worry about a immigrant learning about our system and being a threat,we let people in to easy they love us.

I do think equip caused alot of deaths,the stuff the CF works with is horrible, honestly I think we should spend some money and then do what austria does ,2yrs mandatory enlistment,learn to be a soldier and goto school at the same time,I think it would work

My respect and regards to this soldier who died in service some 5 years ago. However, there is no need to bump such a relic of a thread. There's actually a rule about not bumping old threads.
