I was just wondering this because I want to do it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to make this possible??? Strength is my main concern but I would like to keep this muscle as well. Any ideas??? I am 5'5" 190lbs and about 15%BF. I would like to get down to about 8% or so just to see those abs by summertime. I want to keep the strength because I am a powerlifter. I want to stay drug free because of my occupation and the fact that I do drug tested Bench Press meets. Anyone???

Well this could get so complicated..my advice is do some real research about diets and training...I will say now do not make the mistake of using high reps to 'cut up,' that is bullshit and will only lead to muscle and strength loss....as far as diets, that is where it's at, there are also many good supplements that can help too, such as ECA, glutamine, Alpha lipoic acid, flaxseed, etc...

BTW Yes of course it is possible to retain muscle and lose fat w/o steroids...silly way to present the question really.

First off Thank You for the info, Second I know its "Possible" but the "Probability" of keeping the "Strength" seems very poor. Everytime I diet down I lose strength, which I said is the most important thing to me. That is why I presented the question that way.

Oh ok...I see what you're say...yes strength can and probably will drop...use creatine as well in high dosages...I'm not an expert on retaining strength specifically while dieting and I don't know how much diet knowledge you have, but I'm sure others as well as a search will net you some good info. Good luck.

as you diet, you depelet muscle glycogen, as glycogen goes so will your strength with steroids or without strength losses will occur. muscle loss is not much of an issue if you are under your genetic potential and/or trying to go down to no lower then 6-7%bf, once you go lower then 6% bf muscle loss becomes an issue since the caloric defecit needed is very significant

Well for those that use ECA, how long do you guys actually stay on it? Ive heard 2 weeks on 2 off, IVe also heard of staying on for as many as 12 weeks. So whats up with that?

do it slow

i mean cut cals very slowly,,,,,like take a whole year to do it,,,...........i really dont think it can be done without alot of muscle loss, but to try it you have to do it very slow
