I think you'd be a very good foster parent. I would say by your character helping the 13 year old boy last year, definately shows you care about people. I would imagine you are extremely clean by some of your posts. Have no idea about your patients with kids with behavior problems, but considering your size, most kids wouldn't try to push your buttons. I think it is a great thing for someone who doesn't have kids. My mother and stepdad were foster parents and it can be hard on biological children. Good luck

My parents were right off the boat so I didn't learn to speak English until I was 5.

Funny thing? My english is obviously superlative. Sadly my Magyar suffers because I only have my sister and her children to speak to anymore... but that will change soon!

Did you know that my sister's oldest son is about to return from his first year in Magyar boarding school? He got outstanding grades, all classes in Magyar of course, and my sister was born HERE... I am so proud of her and him.

She will be moving there in the fall with her three kids, her husband (who is 100% American) to follow shortly thereafter.

Damn, I knew there was something I dug about you.

You'd make a great dad AAP, but may I suggest not to adopt just one child - make it two (at least), no more than 4 years apart in age. I am sure you and your partner can handle it - and if you don't care about about ethnicity or gender may I suggest that there are millions of neglected or orphaned baby girls in China waiting for adoption. In fact girls are much more likely to be abandoned and/or neglected in many parts of the world, just saying.

The only problem that worries me is that I have heard about how some gays are only allowed to be foster parents to children much older (10-12 years old) than the age I would like. Not saying there is anything wrong with those children, but I would much preferably want one pre-K as it is much easier to start with good influences than trying to overcome bad experiences on down the road.
