Dan O'Brien and Dave Johnson both won medals in the Olympics and at the World Championships. That's as good as it gets.

I agree, but Dan O'Brien seems to have had a self destructive streak in him. During the '96 Olympic trials, he was suppose to be a shoo-in for the track and field team, but self-destructed during the trials. I read an article in which his coaches had a hard time figuring him out and motivating him. Therapy must have done wonders for the 2000 Olympics.
