Can You Have Fun Without Getting Drunk or Stoned?

I dont party as much anymore....I used to drink like a fish and get all stupid...now I get embarassed when I think of it...I'd rather go to bed and watch cartoons now instead of go out and drink my face off....yeah I'm a dork :D

I think extreme drinking is just a phase for most people. God knows I did enough of it when i first got into university. Like me, most peeps quit once they're a bit older and realize how pointless it is to get smashed every night.

However, I will say that on occasion it's fun to go completely nuts -- drink too much, dance for 6 hours, puke, pass out, wake up with a wicked hangover, and swear never to do it again. :D It a good way to blow of steam, and as long as your surrounded by friends, I don't see the harm.

But 9/10 times, I don't need chemical assistance to have fun.

I don't drink or get stoned so the answer is Yes, but I don't have anything against either one. To each his own.

The thing about getting really drunk often, is that you stop getting really drunk, even though you drink the same amount. It doesn't have the same effect on the brain. The sillyness somehow diminishes. Or maybe it just becomes that drunk is normal and sober is not..or at least a shift in that direction. Sometimes, I eat candyfloss.

If you're going to a crowded club, where its most likely hot, with little room to maneuver through people who can be somewhat obnoxious, and you tend to have a high rate of irritability, then loosening yourself up with a few drinks or a joint or two can work wonders. Just as long as you don't look like an ass.

I can have plenty of fun without drinking! I agree with you. I dont' understand why people have to go out drinking to have a good time. I have several friends who have to stay stoned all the time to even function...I think that is pitiful.

I don't think there is anything wrong with going out and drinking occasionally...even getting drunk every now and then...but I actually prefer to be sober when I am in very good company.

Good post.
