can you gain size while on a low carb diet?

ive been on deca for 7 weeks now and i havent gained a pound. i just added test prop for the last few weeks of my cycle. my diet has been: low carbs (less than 50g ed except for cheat days) and high protein (250-300g ed). can i gain size and weight from a low carb diet during my last few weeks? i gained a lot of fat from my last cycle, which is why im tring the low carb diet.

You can, but very little....

Here is my thinking:

I am doing 4 days low carbs -- (around 100g) and about 400cals below maintenence. On these days I don't think you can build muscle, but you can maintain it, and loose fat.

Then I do 1 high carb day -- (around 350 g) and about 400cals above maintenence -- I believe that for the next 24-36 hours I am in a muscle building environment. And that fat gain probly won't happen as my glycogen stores get filled up again.

I dunno if that makes sense, but I hope it does.... Cause it sure seems to be working for me. :)

do you do high carb days only on workout days? ive noticed that when my cheat days fall on the same day as a workout day, the pumps are intense.

No, it depends...... But if a high carb day falls on an off day, I will go far a hard cardio session.

i did a CKD for about 3 months while on a cycle and gained some good mass while losing a bunch of bodyfat. i'd be STRICT on the diet the whole week while busting my ass in the gym and doing tons of cardio. from Friday night until sunday afernoon i'd eat ANYTHING i wanted. i wouldn't count carbs/fat or protein. just if i wanted it id eat it. i was AMAZED at the progress i made during that time, BUT i will admit it was my first cycle and i probably wounldn't make the same gains today BUT i did gain on a low carb diet (while losing fat)

I can't gain anything when I drop below 500 g. of carbs per day...

damn, thats alot of carbs, so during your bulking cycle, how much bf do you put on when consuming that many carbs?

Thanks

Im having great strength gains on my low carb (zone) diet. I am cramping and pulling little muscles more. I have no idea why.

ZERO. My everyday diet while off is ~5000-5200 calories a day, 500 g. of carbs, 300g. protein, 200g. of fat...
While on I try and up the carbs to around 600 a day, and protein goes up to ~350 g/day.
I usually stay at ~180-185 8% bf (year round)...It is expensive to eat like this...

I'm a type II diabetic who is not on meds. I have to limit my carbs to < 20 grams per meal. In addition I only eat three meals a day. I definitely gain on a low carb diet but not nearly as much as some of the post I'v3 read. I'd say over the past year I've put on 15 quality pounds of mass through two cycles. Gains come slow, but they are quality gains.

Bro, that is impressive, nice one! yeah abit expensive, lol :)

Thanks for the info

The only issue that bothers me is that my blood sugar levels seem to be all over the place (eating this many carbs, its no surprise). So sometimes I am highly energetic, other times I barely want to get out of my chair...

too true, your insulin will spike all over the place.

I'm trying out the low carb diet, I eat carbs based on what body part I train, eg. if I do big body parts like legs, back, chest then I'll eat more carbs, smaller body parts I'll eat less carbs.
The reason being that I had my bf measured using calipers and measured at 20% bf, lol, fuck I nearly feinted from shock. So now I'm eating cleaner, smarter and cutting down carbs, I think its working cos I feel tighter, my love handles are to blame for the high bf, sucks!!
I got some T-rex sitting around and am thinking to use it to shift more fat. What do you think bro??

Thanks

I dont think you should watse gear by doing a ckd, just eat clean like tuna, steak, turkey, potatos, chicken and do some cardio 3 times a week and you will be just fine in gaining leaner mass, if you still want to cut do a ckd about a month or two after your cycle

I've included cardio now 15mins cross trainer after lifting weights for 5 days a week.
I'm eating alot of protein and have cut down fat and carb intake.
I guess it take time to shift such an amount of bf, so I'll keep at it and save the t-rex for later date.

Thanks

psychedout

I think your nearly right. It does depend on how often you train but basically do low carb on non weight training days and high carb AFTER your workout on training days. Now if you train six days a week this isn`t going to work but if you do less than three it should work wonders.

i dont know for me i gain the most with carbs but also the bodyfat. I just started high fat/protein moderate carb the other day i will see how that works.
