I know that I should be able to do it, but I just can't date anyone who listens to Rush Limbaugh; thinks Bush is a good president; places any value on anything that Ann Coulter has to say, etc.

I try. I really do. I figure I just won't bring up politics, but it seems the conversation always goes in that direction. For example, they will say something over dinner like how medicaid has destroyed the economy, and that is it. I can't go on.

In Kentucky there used to be lots of democrats but now there only seems to be the bible thumping type of Republicans.

jack actually is pretty moderate from our discussions. He has never said anything that has made me think he was one of those crazy conservative types.

Depends...I'm a reasonably moderate republican and could deal with a reasonably moderate dem. But a Commie lefty who thinks Michael Moore and his socialist schtick is the second coming? Not so much.

Not because of politics...but because we are OBVIOUSLY going to have different values on some hot button issues that would ultimately make us incompatible for the long run, so why bother with the short term if you know it will only lead to breaking up eventually?
