Can one burn/copy Microsoft DVD's?

The 8.xx GB versions?

I got a stack of Microsoft Universal Subscription DVD's. Chock full of tens of thousands of dollars of Microsoft crap from Enterprise Server, to Visual STudio to Commerce Server, blah blah blah. Along with product-keys.

I heard tho, that those DVD burner shit only works on 4.XX GB DVD's, not the big DVD's.

That's scary. One tiny scratch and the whole CD could become useless. How can you make copies???

and btw: What's a good DVD Burner? I need to buy one.

Rip them with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink and use a Dual Layer DVD to burn on and you are set

If you have trouble getting them to come over just make a .iso of them and then re-burn using a dual layer disc

English please. lol.

Can one easily burn a "dual layer disc" with a DVD writer? Where can one get DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink? Are they easy to use?

I've never copied whole DVD's to the HD and tired installing Microsoft apps yet. Not even sure if they'll install if they're not installed from a DVD (?).

Get DVD Decrypter here:
http://www.dvddecrypter.com/

Get DVD Shrink here:
http://www.dvdshrink.org/

Both are free. Just put the DVD in and you can decrypt any protection on it with decrypter. It will just spool to the hard drive. Use shrink then to re-author the DVD and you can take crap out or put it back in or do whatever you like. This is great for movies cause you can skip all the bullshit menu's. Anyways, a regular disc is 4.7GB and a dual layer disc is ~9GB but you need to have a dual layer burner to use them. Just see how big the files are and you will know which one you need to use. Also a free trial of Nero can be used to burn if you don't like shrink

Well i'm going to buy a good DVD Burner first. I'm gonna look for a NEC Dual Burner DVD. That's what it seems they suggest on cdfreaks.com.

Thing is -- this is a single-side DVD, but it's *more* than 4.7GB. So i do'nt know what category it fits into then.
