Hook up my iPhone to my big screen TV?

and if so, would I be able to watch 1080p off of the tv screen if the media on the iphone is 1080p?

Would I need some kind of mini HDMP if that even exists?

Where be all the tech geeks?
 
yeah, keep the iphone and get apple tv with your current tv

or get android with samsung smart tv use swipe it app

only two options that I know of..I've tried.
 
Why would you want to plug your phone into you TV? Can't you just watch your own jerk off vids on your phone?

you don't have to buy them.

You can stream music, radio, youtube, nhl, mlb, nfl, etc. as well as use it for hulu or Netflix, you can display everything on your iphone or ipad on your tv. Games, etc.


it does a lot of shit.
 
netflix is horrible with shitty quality...you can watch youtube? you can fucking do that from anything

I have a Boxee with an external hard drive, download all my movies onto it...Boxee you can stream and do all that shit...streaming sucks btw...Boxee plays MKV files...Apple doesnt...lame
 
its not the same thing, not even close. yes its more but it should be...you can use it with torrents, apple you cant..which is why apple tv is pointless
 
Can you download a DivX codec for Apple TV that will allow you to play Matroska file extensions? PS3 won't play them either (nothing Sony makes will), but Xbox 360 does.

Yeah, Sony sucks ass for Matroska files as well as PAL to NTSC conversion. and interlaced video at 60fps.

Just about any other brand of blu-ray hardware, no matter how cheap shit it is, will still be better than anything Sony makes.

Matroska container, same as any other container files (MOV, AVI, etc.). It's a container that holds both an audio and video file. MKV is popular because it can also hold subtitle files and can be compressed into a much smaller file size than AVI (making for a quicker download).

Apple makes you buy an apple tv on top of their $700 phone.
 
white people should get a discount for apple products. i'm not white, but i try, and that's good enough. i could get maybe a partial discount.

TV has 4 HDMI ports and a USB port, phone only has a USB port. When I connect the phone to the TV via USB, whats the max res I can get out of it?

Does Apple TV upscale movies? I'm assuming I'm buying a piece of hardware for this not an app?
