so i was driving to the gym...the garage was about 200 yards after teh stop sign...

i sorta blew thru the stop sign slowly and then sped up to 30-35 pretty quick and then slowed down real quick as i saw two cops standing outside their cars...

i parked in the garage and ran into the gym...

when i came out and walked to the parking garage there was NO ticket on my car....could one of the cops have gone to my car to write down my plate or do you think i lucked out?


jeez im worried cant afford any more points in this company car...

if the cops are gonna get you, they are gonna get you. they aren't going to set up a trap for you later on based off rolling a stop sign.

I have no idea how other states work, but in CA and TX, my experience is that if they don't pull you over and ticket you personally for a moving violation, it's not going to happen. The exception being red light or speeding cameras. But those are fairly easy to dispute sometimes. It's not like a parking ticket where they ticket the vehicle's owner. For a moving violation, they have to ticket the driver; not the car. If you see the meter maid getting ready to write you a parking ticket and you drive away, you (or the registered owner of the car) will get the ticket in the mail, and if not paid, will be added with fines and interest to your plate renewal.

If they're outside the car - they don't give a shit. You can't write a ticket for someone when theyh're not even there. They don't have your ID or know who you are. It's not like a parking ticket where htye ticket the car.

i got a careless driving, reckless driving, and seat belt ticket in the mail. never got pulled over. its legal in most states. all they need is your plate number.
