can i build up my squat without squatting?

I would like to gain weight but I dont like eating and I cant drink stuff like
weight gainers or protein shakes... :p

Although your request doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me it is possible for
sure. deadlifts might help, front squats, cleans, good mornings maybe leg press
just wait for the good guys to show up they will like your question :chomp:

ok you can build up your arms without curling, but no, no squat no bigger squat

actually, if you do GM's a couple times a week, you should get close to the numbers you are squatting. and can do a heavy, submaximal squat once a month to test it to see where you are.

chances are you dont like squating because you just havent done it enough. now my squat is a work in progress because of years of neglect. however, squating 3x per week has my technique coming along, and i no longer dread squat sessions.
DO SOMETHING FREQUENTLY AND YOU WILL GET BETTER!

If you're squatting olympic style, the answer is absolutely not.

In a Powlifting-style 'squat', as was mentioned above, GMs can have very direct carryover.

Way down this road, in a gym far away,
A young man was once heard to say,
“I’ve repped high and I’ve repped low,
No matter what I do my legs won't grow.”

He tried leg extensions, leg curls, and leg presses, too.
Trying to cheat these sissy workouts he’d do.
From the corner of the gym where the big men train,
Through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain.

Where the big iron rides high and threatens lives,
Where the noise is made with big forty fives.
A deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees,
A very big man with legs like trees.

Laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack,
Chalking his hands and his monstrous back,
Said, “Boy stop lying and don’t say you’ve forgotten,
Trouble with you is you ain’t been squattin.”

I also have to agree with squatting often. Train your squat as a lift, rather than training legs as a bodypart.....get rid of the dreaded 'leg day' and make squatting a part of every workout.

i mainly SQ and OHP. if you do it right, you shouldn't have anything left. but everyone loves to sit..... it's nice, isn't it? nice and relaxing, relieve the tension. take it easy. well, that's the last thing i want to do in the gym. unless i've been drinking.
