Anyone?

Since my rugrats are now 4 and I'm looking into taking them on camping trips where I can scare the bejesus out of them and expose them to dead animals, big piles of bear shit and 1001 ways to use a fish as a weapon.

Camping is the sheat! I go with and without rugrat. We're going next weekend.
Nature is where it's at. But my kid is just in it for the smores.

Loved camping growing up...as i get older it's hard to find a guy that likes to go camping..fishing and stuff. Although, I do love my showers :)

Camping was a nightmare for me.

Last time I went, it was with my ex and it snowed, the snow collapsed half the tent so we were basically in something like a plastic cave, then I discovered that instead of vodka, he had only packed scotch. God it was freezing.

I have lost tissue due to advanced hypothermia.

Snow cave gone horribly wrong...compounded by a blizzard gone horribly wrong.

Couldn't write for 3-4 days. My high school teachers were cool about it though. Hard to argue with purple fingers with skin falling off.

I love camping......Texas has it all. From Big Bend to Padre to the piney woods of East Texas. My Rugrats have seen it all.

I still have a chunk of skin periodically fall off of the tips of my big toes. Just a lil reminder.

I was a tad cold. The temp that night was about -30 F as I recall.

Several thing went wrong.

I'm never camping with you.

I've had two trips worse than that. :)

Done a hella lot of camping though.

Camping with the kids is so cool though. Just remember that snow/ice represents possible dangers.
I'm going with the virulent infection risk in the summer vs the elements risk of the winter. I hate winter.

Are you close to Lake O' the Pines?

Lake Fork would be a great place to camp and fish.

Caught a 8lb 7oz large mouth at fork about 4 years ago, haven't been to Lake O' the Pines, but have camped in Tyler and Palestine. Beautiful country out in East Texas. This pic is at Fork, I think this one was about 5lbs.

Lake Fork is "hawg heaven" when it comes to Largemouth Bass fishing. Definately on my to do list of things.

I was born and raised in East Texas (Longview to be exact) but moved before Lake Fork was impounded.:(

East Texas is chock full of beautiful country.

When I was an Asst Boy Scout Master, we would have to drive from west Texas to east Texas to enjoy the scenery.

Texas should be 2-4 states the way I see it. Celebrated two birthdays driving from one end to the other.

The word you're looking for is "chock".

lol.....I had one a few years back but sold it after my second child was born. Needed to stay at home more. Best thing I have ever done.

I've caught a couple of +10 lb bass but I never mounted them. I always turned them loose. Have several in the 8 and 9 lb class mounted though. Wife makes me keep them in the barn. I can't understand why though....lol...I think they are very decorative.

Fathers Day:

Mout those babies over the bed.

Fore and aft.

It is your right. You earned it.

my family camped a LOT growing up, cheap vacation for a family of 5.

I haven't camped myself in 10 years now. Prefer more urban styles of entertainment.
