Calv inject problem

Hello guys!

I always seems to hit a nerve when I´m injecting my calves, both the inner and outher head. I use 27 G*1" pins.

Has anyone any suggenstions or solutions to this problem?
I really need to bring my calves up to match my legs, especially my inner head.

Mainly Long R-3. However I´ve seen good site injection results in shoulders and arms, and I almost never hit nerves when injecting in those bodyparts.
 
calves aren't even on my list anymore... i always got insane pain and couldn't walk for a few days no matter what

My suggestion is to stop injecting your calves
 
I've read a few things on calf injections and from what I undertand the calf is not the best place in inject. The calg muscles are the most vascularized muscles in the body and the liklihood of hitting a vein is significant. Also, many complain of pain.

I have hit my calf's before and for me it was not bad. The positive's are that (for me anyway) it is painless to inject, very easy to massage. I didn't experience much pain afterwards either - the pain in my calves does last linger than other areas though.

If you are injecting solely to make them bigger it will not work. I agree with the posts above that spot injections will not make the specific muscle larger.

If you need bigger calves then hit them three times per week and alternate exercies between both heads and use a combo of high reps/low weight with high weight/low reps.

I struggled with small calves and I did this:

Mon: seated calf raises @ 90% of my max/8 sets; standing calf raises @ 90% of my max/8 sets; for both exercises: 3 sets would be with toes pointed in; 3 sets toes pointed out; last two sets toes straight out

Wednesday: 4 sets each of standing and sitting; 50-80 reps each; be flexible with the weight but make sure you can knock out the reps

Friday: repeat Monday's workout

Alternate workouts every week; so for week two Mon and Fri will be low rep/high weight and Wed will be low weight high rep. This constantly shocks the muscles and it will force them to grow. I would also alternate in negative reps and a few other things here and there.

If my foot doesn;t shake when I hit the clutch when I am dricing home from the gym on a calf day I didn't train my calves enough.

Also, make sure you stretch the calves for at least 5 minutes before and after working out. This will increase blood flow to the area, reduce the chance of injury and stimulate more muscle growth.

Making sure your form is correct is also critical. We have some huge guys at the gym (with chicken legs) that stick tons of weight on yet they do not use the proper form. take 5-8 seconds to lower the weight and force the weight up as fast as possible when contracting the muscle. Make sure your calf muscles are pushing up the weight - do not jerk your body or slack off my using your quads and other muscles to force the weight up. Strict form is absolutely necessary.

I don't buy into the theory of site injections. I don't feel that you are getting any localized growth, just localized swelling. Hit the typical injection spots and let your body circulate the drug.

Just my 0.02.
