I have the most painful callouses...its really effecting my deadlifts. My hands are small, real small, so when I do grip the bar it pinches the skin. Ive tried ignoring them, cutting them off, all to no avail, any suggestions on fixing this... gloves are no help, because they make my grip weaker (i hate my gym, wont let you use chalk :worried: )

I got the same problem bro, as i'm sure alot of other bros around here do as well. Gloves help, but that doesn't help your grip much. So really your only option is to get some wrist straps and pretty much wrap all the bars that you do any kind of pulling motion with (deads, back work, traps). also you can get a pumice stone and sometimes wear them away. I got some bare foot cream that is gritty and you just put it on and rub it in and then wash it off and it will eat away dead skin. Other than that, just make sure you apply lotion 2 or 3 times a day and that will help. I find mine get worse if I let my hands get dry. hope that helps

Get some gloves but make sure they are tight. I have a pair of $10 gloves that have managed to hold up over 3 years (they have lasted longer than the last three or four gloves I have purchased). These gloves are tight and I notice that the looser gloves effect my grip and cause me more problems with callouses.

Pumice stones did nothing for me. What works well? A foot file. It's one of those deals chicks use on their feet to keep em soft.

I can file mine right down till all the dead stuff is gone, then I put on some lotion (fuck off)

This has been the only thing that's saved me since I started going heavier and training grip. Good luck

You can get gloves that have a strap that will also wrap around the bar and help with your weakened grip. Or wear normal gloves and buy a regular wrist strap that wraps around your wrist and the bar to help with the weakened grip.

I do not like glove, but use boxer wrap this way calluse does not get irritated, grip is not affected, wrist is supported. they are much less expensive then glove
