I've never received gov't funding, even at my worst when my company crashed and I couldn't get money for Q's diapers and formula. I sold everything I had, clubs, my scotty cameron, knives, plasma, etc. The last one really made me feel like I had hit rock bottom, and I had never hit that drinking.
 
Someone put up a Kickstarter page. Donators at the "platinum" level ($500 and above) get knot shots. It's really an investment.
