The job market seems decent (ie people posting help wanted signs on every corner) and the housing seems cheap (but maybe that's an offshoot of the housing credit crisis). I don't see vagrants like I do back in Toronto. And there's little to know snow. I dunno. It's not as bad as people made it out to be.

I used to think you had credible sources up until about this point..

the oil industry makes our lives better general 9/10

like this is the last year ANYONE in our entire province will have to pay health care premiums to the government, after that it'll be entirely free for albertans.. just albertans not.. not any other province..

we're the only province/state in all of North America that is out of doubt.

Housing is a little expensive, but that has came down to a reasonable level.. and ya everyone here is looking to high someone else..

problem with alberta is there isn't enough workers for all the work being done, we have adds constantly being broadcast to other provinces to try to steal thier laborers here.

So ya.. whatever you've heard you've heard wrong..

people like Imperial Oil moving/moved thier head office here from toronto.. alot of huge oil companies on the downtown of cowtown..

It's a pretty awesome place to live that's for sure.

I'm gong by comments on ctv.ca. Where people are pissed at the Premiere for sending their province into the shithole. What's his approval rating?

Worker scarcity is easily solved. Increase visas. We have no problem with worker shortage with mexico south of us. But stupid canadian politicians can't figure that out, and make corporate growth stall as a result. Whic is why Canada is a lousy place to invest.

Agreed!! I always tell people it's just like a smaller version of Denver. It does get cold as fuck in the winter, but since all the buildings downtown are connected by the covered walkways you don't really have to go outside.
