Calf raises

Like quite a few people I’m lacking in the calf department. What are your opinions on how best to grow them or do you think it’s all down to genetics ?I have just bought a second hand calf raise machine to put in my garage so I have no excuse to neglect them now and will attack them however you all think is best ?

Hi Steve. So would every other day and in the 15-20 rep range be what you’d advise ?

I would make sure you are doing both. Hit them with high reps and low reps, high weight and low weight. Even body weight can work well on certain exercises.

Cant change your genetics but you can work them harder. Do slow controlled movements and heavy weight

Hiking with a heavy pack can build your calves.

Hill sprints will build your calves.

Gaining weight will build your calves.
