Calculating half-life?

Sorry I didn't get back to ya sooner guys. I have been swamped here with work. I live in South Florida in its Eastern time and I just got back from the gym about a half-hour ago at 4 a.m. I just read to your posts from Blut wump and Pendit. Thanks guys That is exactly what I needed. I understood everything, good explanation it took me back to high school I could almost smell the nasty stench lingering in the men's locker room as I was absorbing the information. Okay one last question and I will get out of your hair for now. How do you give the karma hits? And karma power? I definitely owe you all big-time . This information really helped me out.

Click on the Karma button just beneath where it says whether someone is online. To give Green, make sure that Approve is checked otherwise Disapprove for negative K *evil grin*.

I guess you're looking for the half-life formula
If the half-life is H days and you have an amount N at the start then after D days you'll have

N
--------
2^(D/H)

Where the ^ symbol is for raising to the power. So, as an example, if you inject 500mg of something with a half-life of 8 days then after 4 days you'll have

500
---------
2^(4/8)

which is 353.55

If you want to know how much goes into your system on any given day, calculate the value for each of the two days and take the difference,

okay, now here is the problem. when you first inject, for example, 200mg of test enanthate, you don't get all 200mg of that test enanthate when you inject it. It sits there in a big ole' glop and gets released into the bloodstream slowly.

for AAS, the half life refers to the amount of time it takes a substance to render 1/2 of the entire amount in the bloodstream, right? i.e. as an example I've used before...

testosterone shitanoate (IT'S MADE-UP!) has a half life of 10 days. you inject 200mg of it, and 10 days later, there is 100mg in the bloodstream. The equation you mention, monsignor, definitely produces 100mg at day 10, but at day 1, you have the entire amount. The equation will obviously work for days starting at the half life and beyond, but what about INITIALLY, when you first inject?

The formula shows how much is still in depot rather than how much is in your system. Initially, when you first inject, the value in your system is a big fat zero because the full amount is in depot.

Say you inject a gram of your (made-up) test shit on day 1 with its 10-day half life. By day 2 in depot there is still
1000
----------
2^(1/10) <-- the 1 here is elapsed days

which is 933.032992 mg. This means that during and through day 1, 67 mg of your shitanoate broke down. Your body received 67mg of test, less the weight of the shit ester.

The half-life of test itself is very short and whether your body aromatized it, converted it to DHT or had it all bound to SHBG is another matter.

That's why I made the comment about doing the calculation on two successive days and taking the difference to see how much was released to your system on any given day. If you want to plug quarter days into the equation you can do to see what happens on a morning or afternoon. The equation doesn't care.

BTW if you don't have a calculator to hand, you can use Google to work out equations for you. Just type it into the Google search box.

1000 / (2^(1/10)) and it'll give the answer.

I hope that clarifies.
