Cal Collegiate 2nd place novice and open!

yeah 2nd open and novice. same guy for first too. the one next to me in the blue trunks in some of the pics.
 
Yeah his back looked much better than yours in the lat spread.
That's your main weakness
Need a bit more thickness and sweep in the lats.

Not much definition in the legs though - calves.
But the other guys had the same problems as well, could be the photos

Hehhe sucked in face - signs of calorie deprivation :)

Your first comp?
Its been 10 years since I competed. Its a lotta work for a plastic trophy :)
One thing I was good at, was posing. Since I was a good dancer, I had a certain feel. But gee sometimes I wonder if its worth all the rehearshing of your 3 min posining routine. Endless hours in the sun and shaving all your bodily hair...

Who knows one day I may return to the stage :fro:

things i know i did wrong/need to work on.

water depletion: as the day wore on, i got tighter and tighter. so i should have started cutting my water earlier in the week.

back: yeah, ive been wrestling with it for a while but believe it or not i have made pretty significant gains in the past year on it.

leg:i cannot pose them. my calf usually pops out, but i was so worried about sitting back and keeping my hams and glutes tight i would forget the calf. also my general conditioning in my legs needed a bit more work. started doing interval cardio too late in the game. otherwise my thighs outsized the other guys.

chest: i'll bring it up more. i knew that going into this.

for my first show i had a blast though. the energy was high and the guys doing the show were really cool. not what i expected.

i think i'll work another 6 months to come in about 10-12lbs heavier for the max muscle naturals next march. then i wont be denied.
 
Very impressive bro as expected. I hope some of the nay-sayers from a while back get to see these. .....except maybe for that one with you and Priest where you look kinda dopey. :D

im the worst about giving instructions to the camera person, and not paying attention to when the shot is going off. hehe. plus all i could think about was PIZZA! i was like, "lee who?".
 
What you do is pose with your eyes shut and then open em and check in the mirror if your doing it right. Its a hella lot different when your on stage without a mirror :)

I normally flex from calves to the neck. That way you make sure every muscle is flexed. Like a check list.

Gees Lee Priest looks so um normal... :)
