I just read Iron Addict's post at http://www.gotfina.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=10658 and look at how similar it is to slobbernoker's program (who squats 600+ and deadlifts 700+). 2 out of 5 sets are warmups. This is exactly what I am doing as well with addition of very few accesory exercises, and not going to failure to allow me to workout 4 days a week, and I am able to progress on my lifts everyday.

Monday
Bench Press 5 x 5
Military Press 5 x 5
Bench or Regular Dips 5 x 5

Wednesday
Squat 5 x 5
Stiff Legged Deadlift 5 x 5
Calf Raise 5 x 5
Abs

Friday
Chins 5 x 5
Bent Rows 5 x 5
Barbell Curls 5 x 5

Yeah that is similar. A lot of people do this kind of routine. It's sort of an older powerlifter type routine. Coan follows something similar. Great for overall size and strength. Hey bottomline: if you're improving each week, it's a good routine.

I heard you on the diet bro to finally get down below 340. Didnt your nutritionist tell you not to eat 3000 calorie meal before bed yesterday

Brother, that is a great routine, and all anyone would need to progress in muscle and strength. I went from 144.5lbs to 240 in about 3 years with a routine like that.

I think Slobberknocker is around 300? And his strength is amazing, he also happens to have one of the most basic routines I have ever seen. No fuss no muss (hey wasn't that in a shampoo comercial?!)

I'm going to try something similar. I've just realized that I've been wearing my body out doing many sets to failure. My joints are starting to ache and working out has become mostly a chore for me. I'm hoping that by cutting back I can put some enthusiasm back into my training
