Button downed dress shirt to go out in? (what to wear underneath

Button down dress shirts are pretty nice to wear with a nice pair of jeans and shoes if your going out and trying to look sexy yet not to dressy. But what do you guys wear underneath the dress shirt? Nothing? A white t shirt, or a tank top (wife beater). Or do you even mix it up and put a different colored undershirt on instead of white? Oh ya and do any of you roll up the sleeves?

all I see when I go out nowadays is a bunch of frat looking boneheads wearing worn jeans with a button down collarred shirt... can't stand it. I realize the pickins are slim in some parts of the US for clothing but even in LA I see this stuff. People have no self confidence.

As others have said, button down shirts and jeans ARE NOT NICE to go out in. And they are certainly not different. EVERY nondescript white male between the ages of 18 and 30 wear the exact same thing when they go out. The striped shirt needs to die. Unless you want to look like everyone else, I'd advise against this look.

Either way, it should ALWAYS be nothing worn underneath. Unless of course, you're trying to not be sexy.
