dude...i'm just telling you what i've read...thats all. this thread that i'm talking about came from a REALLY reliable source in the industry. it was a detailed thread with back up info...so being that all you specified is the you dont THINK so...i'm just telling you that there are a lot of fine lines that are overlooked when you sign up with mailboxes etc. it's a privately owned compnay that can make up whatever rules it wants. i'm still looking for the thread. so please somebody give other FACTS rather than "i dont think so".

guys i remember the thread he was talking about a few months ago. i dont remember all of the details, but one i remember was that if you use a MBE or whatever, do NOT use a fictitious name/address for the sender, because they will know its not a good address and will put up a flag. he said pick an address and name out of the phone book because not having a return address looks suspicious also...
there was more but i dont recall it all.

To get another mail box you usually have to show id. If you use a fake id that's mail fraud, worse than possession. .

showing false ID to get a box (especially a nonm-USPS box) doesnt sound like mail fraud based on below, but check with a lawyer

MAIL FRAUD - 18 U.S.C. 1341, makes it a Federal crime or offense for anyone to use the United States mails in carrying out a scheme to defraud.

A person can be found guilty of that offense only if all of the following facts are proved: First: That the person knowingly and willfully devised a scheme to defraud, or for obtaining money or property by means of false pretenses, representations or promises; and Second: That the person used the United States Postal Service by mailing, or by causing to be mailed, some matter or thing for the purpose of executing the scheme to defraud.

DEFRAUD To deprive of some right, interest, or property, by a
deceitful device; to withhold from wrongfully; to injure by
embezzlement;

or for obtaining money or property by means of false pretenses, representations or promises;

hmmm.. sounds exactly like mail fraud using a false id to get a box for obtaining property (gear) by means of false representations (fake id)
how much more clearer could they have put it ?

I'm pretty sure "obtaining" in context doesnt mean merely "receiving", but rather requires wrongfully depriving someone else of property/money (conversion).

The USPS can most def open any package they want. I've seen it happen. They technically have to get a warrant but since they are quasi-government, it is easier than you could imagine. And once they do and they open your package, be prepared for the worst. My advise is to get to know your mail-man and know the person who does the route when he is off. If you notice a different carrier delivering your package.....don't accept it and tell them it must be a mistake because you are not expecting anything. The USPS uses its postal investigators for these kinds of things as to keep the normal carrier out of danger, both while delivering the illegal goods and after the bust.

The important thing is you may never break the law,

1. Only import medicine you have been prescribed by doctor.
2. Use your real information. (So that mail is not lost, or so you do not find yourself violating Mail Fraud laws as above+)
3. Make sure any roomates etc in your house do not store any illegal items in your house, as the authorities may think these are yours.
4.Make sure the registered pharmacy ships the items in a way that will get to your destination. (make sure they pack "good")
I would avoid all po boxes and mail boxes etc, as well as cariers such as fed ex etc. for the reasons that they are 1 unreliable and 2. the constitution does not apply to them as it does to the govt., basically their contract overridees that.

friend, grandma?

You mean to have illegal stuff sent to a friend or someone in the family without telling them about it? I don't know, I would never do that, they could get into troubles. What a mess it could be...
